These best picnic spots can also be enjoyed for a sunrise breakfast or sunset dinner and include an array of space for activities.

NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTY

Coral Cove Park

19450 State Road 707, Tequesta

Park faces Intracoastal Waterway with 600 feet of beach with lifeguards on duty during park hours. Saltwater fishing is common in the park. Grills are available for picnicking. A playground is near the picnic area for kids.


Burt Reynolds Park

800 and 801 U.S. Highway 1, Jupiter

Park amenities include boat slips and a boat ramp into the Intracoastal Waterway, picnic shelters and the Loxahatchee River Museum.


Carlin Park

400 S. State Road A1A, Jupiter

Park is located on the oceanfront with 3,000 feet of beach. Amenities include picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts, exercise course with 20 tutorial stop-and-train stations, athletic fields, volleyball area and an amphitheatre for special event use. Open sunrise to sunset with lifeguards on duty.


Dubois Park

19075 Dubois Road, Jupiter

Park is along 1,200 feet of oceanfront and includes supervised swimming on the beach and jetty, picnic areas with grills. Dubois Pioneer Home and Indian Mound are two archaeological sites available for touring.


Lakeside Park

805 Lakeside Drive, North Palm Beach

A more intimate park of 5.7 acres. Amenities include basketball court, sand volleyball court, playground and Tiki hut picnic shelter and beach access.


CENTRAL AND SOUTH PALM BEACH COUNTY

Lake Lytal Park

3645 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach

Amenities at this pet-friendly park include baseball fields, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion and picnic areas, playgrounds, racquetball courts, tennis courts, an aquatic center and an Armed Forces Veteran’s Memorial.



Okeeheelee Park

Amenities include bicycle paths, boat ramp and boat dock, nature tails, sheltered picnic tables and a pavilion, playground, disc golf, Okeeheelee Nature Center, Okeeheelee Public Golf Course, Pooch Pines dog park, BMX track and Jim Brandon Equestrian Center.


Spanish River Park

Oceanfront park with 95 acres of land, covered picnic tables and grills, volleyball area, nature trails, exercise course, tennis court, boat dock and a 40-foot observation tower.

Amenities include beach, nature trail, picnic pavilion and areas. It’s lifeguard supervised from 8 a.m. to dusk.


BROWARD COUNTY


Hollywood North Beach Park

Park has views of the Intracoastal Waterway and over a mile of public beach; Turtle Cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week and serves American cuisine. The park also has picnic shelters and fishing piers. Sea Turtles and Their Babies Program hosts beachside releases of turtle hatchlings on Wednesday and Friday nights from early July to mid-August.


Boater’s Park

The north side of the Dania Cutoff Canal, west of Anglers Ave./ Ravenswood Road, Dania Beach

Park is only accessible by private boat and includes picnic shelters, grills and restrooms. Boaters often do geocaching – a worldwide treasure hunt using GPS devices.

One of Broward County’s largest parks and includes a disc golf course, lake for fishing, athletic fields and sports equipment rentals, Butterfly World, horse stables, an education farm with barnyard animals and farmhouse museum (guided tours), food concessions, Cypress Trail Boardwalk and bounce houses every third weekend monthly.
