Youth Leadership Institute Goes Virtual

Students from eighth grade to high school can participate in the The United Way's Broward Youth Coalition June 16 and 17

Broward Youth Coalition of The United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention’s will host its annual Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) virtually this year June 16-17 via Zoom, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

The free, two-day virtual youth summit for students in eighth grade through graduating high school seniors will focus on mental health promotion, resilience during a pandemic, substance use prevention, leadership, advocacy through youth-led sessions, and will provide a chance for youth to connect with their peers. Students can register here.

This virtual event will feature special guests, including keynote speaker Colber Prosper, the founder of Prosper & Partners, a global personnel and organizational consulting firm that seeks to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Participants will have the chance to earn community service hours, as well as participate to earn prizes.

Event sponsors include United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention, Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, Florida Department of Children and Families, Nova Southeastern University, and Hanley Foundation.
