Fort Lauderdale’s Water Taxi’s Holiday Lights Cruises will take over the Intracoastal Waterway beginning on Friday, December 4, to December 30. The annual holiday cruises feature hour-and-a-half-long rides on the water with views of dazzling holiday lights glowing on beautiful waterfront homes. Cruises begin at 6:30 p.m., with select dates featuring an additional 8:30 p.m. departure time. Tickets for riders ages 12 years and older cost $35 and with tickets for children ages 2 to 11 years cost $15.
“We are so excited for the return of our winter tradition here at Water Taxi. Our Holiday Light Cruises are the perfect way for people to get out on the water and enjoy the incredible light displays featured on some of the most beautiful homes here in Fort Lauderdale,” said Water Taxi’s CEO William Walker. “This year has been difficult and stressful for so many, so we are grateful to be able to offer a way for our guests to relax and unwind while getting in the holiday spirit.”
Water Taxi’s cruises begin at the Riverside Hotel + Stranhan House from which guests depart on double-decker boats to view the picturesque holiday sights. The cruises will feature live holiday music during the tour. Specialty cocktails, like the Peppermint Patty, Boozy Cider, and Knotty Coffee, will also be served for $8 each and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
Water Taxi’s crew and staff are taking preventative measures to keep guests safe while cruising. They will operate at 50 percent capacity and masks will be required when traveling throughout the vessel and when social distancing cannot be met.
