The Veterans Trust and The Human Baton will host a Tribute to America’s Heroes at Las Olas Oceanside Park on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Saturday, September 11, from 12-6 p.m. Four teams representing law enforcement, the fire department, the military, and local patriots will participate in a Human Baton exhibition that will include skydiving from helicopters, Thundercat boat exhibitions, drift cars around Las Olas Beach Park, and GT sports cars down SR A1A.

The inaugural Tribute to America’s Heroes will commemorate the twentieth anniversary of September 11, 2001, and honor first responders and those that serve our country and communities. Net proceeds will be distributed by The Veterans Trust to eight local nonprofits to support critical initiatives in the local community focused on employment, education, and other veterans programs.

Event producers Stev Stephens, Phil Carrington, and Brett Williamson are best known as the team behind the obstacle courses for the Ninja Warrior brand. Their newest project, The Human Baton, is a high-energy relay race with multiple stages over land, sea, air, and online. Their goal is to capture the energy of the race into a one-day immersive experience with Fort Lauderdale as the backdrop.

“The beautiful sandy oasis of Fort Lauderdale Beach will set the stage as our heroic local first responders serve as The Human Batons for their respective teams while raising funds for their nonprofits of choice.” said Stephens.

The park will transform into a community affair with a family-friendly kid zone hosted by FLIPANY, a pop-up food village, opportunities to learn more about the military and first responders, video game trucks and simulators provided by local U.S. military organizations, an exclusive VIP area with refreshing cocktails, and more.

The schedule of events surrounding the Tribute to America’s Heroes will also include a Hangar charitable fundraiser on Saturday, August 28, an invite-only VIP kickoff party on September 10, and an epic closing celebration on the evening of September 11.
