The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) in Fort Lauderdale will debut its newest traveling exhibit, “Planet Pioneers: Journey to Space,” presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, on Friday, January 28. The exhibit will be on view through May 16 and is free with museum admission.

Aspiring space travelers are invited to jump into their space suits and report for astronaut training in the new exhibition, where becoming an astronaut is all about adventure, exploration, and endeavor.

Guests will investigate what it takes to be a space explorer and the technology used to complete a mission. This special STEM-focused exhibit provides future astronauts with the opportunity to “travel to space” without leaving the museum.

The hands-on exhibition will allow visitors of all ages to explore what astronauts take with them when traveling to outer space, items one might find on other planets, and how to survive in a strange environment. The exhibit focuses on teamwork to solve problems, accurately performing tasks, and overcoming challenges that an astronaut would face on a real mission to the cosmos.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office or here.
