The Broward Cultural Division and Mad Arts will partner to produce the third annual Ignite Broward: Art and Light Festival, January 25-29. This year’s Ignite showcase is double the size, featuring 11 light-based installations by eight contemporary artists and designers from France, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Guests are welcome to tour large-scale, 3D projection mapping and interactive light sculptures and installations at Mad Arts in Dania Beach, as well as at the Museum of Discovery and Science and Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale.
Works on view at Mad Arts include: Melody Figments By MF Dynamics; As Water Falls by Daniel Iregui / Iregular; Sound Sculpture by MASARY Studios; DAYDREAM V6 by NONOTAK, poem = work of art by theVERSEverse; and Footprints of Life by Seeper. Stop by Mad Arts daily, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (with extended viewing until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday), to visit these interactive light sculptures and installations will take over the gallery and exterior spaces with extended viewing until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Works on view at the Museum of Discovery and Science and Esplanade Park include: Mother of Tree and Friends by Akiko Yamashita; Talking Heads by Limelight; Circle of Life by Limelight; Control No Control by Daniel Iregui / Iregular; and Optical Reality by Seeper. Check them out daily, from 6 to 10 p.m.
The event kicks off January 25, at 7 p.m. with opening night festivities at the Museum of Discovery & Science’s Atrium.
