The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens will kick off its 2021-2022 season with classes and workshops this month.

The flora-forward season will commence on August 10 and 17 with Orchid Care Classes. On Aug. 10, green thumbs are invited to learn the basics of orchid care from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. They can build upon this knowledge in the following week’s class, Orchid Replanting & Mounting, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Both classes will include a tour of the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens’ Orchid Display House and the Orchid Greenhouses. Registration costs $30 for members and $35 for non-members.

For the art-inclined, join Bonnet House and instructor Galal Ramadan for an Introduction to Colored Pencil Drawing & Painting class, on August 21 and 24, both from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. During the immersive sessions, Ramadan, a master colored pencil artist and photographer, will guide artists through techniques to help them create beautiful artwork without years of experience. All material will be provided by the instructor. Registration costs $50 for members and $60 for non-members.
