Discover what life was like on a beachfront estate in the 1930s and ’40s with a visit to the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. This season’s programming is filled with art, music, watercolors, and more. To start, make plans for either a self-guided tour of the 25-acre property using a mobile app featuring recorded information about each room (available Tuesday through Sunday), or opt for a guided tour with a docent who can share insightful details (available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays). Groups of nine will be allowed
on each docent-led tour and tickets must be purchased in advance. In addition, be sure to check out a variety of events, workshops, and more. Below, we break down two highlights.
Water-Color Workshop
From March 3 through April 7, join fine artist and watercolorist Karen Eskesen to learn about the traditional techniques of realism in watercolor and line drawing. Participants will also get free time to paint in the courtyard and gardens to cull even more inspiration.
Acrylic Painting Workshop
Beginning March 4, Bonnie Opie will host an acrylic painting workshop covering the basic principles of acrylic painting. The six-week session concludes April 8 and will also include time to paint in the courtyard and gardens.
