Fort Lauderdale foodies, set your calendars for the Visit Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival taking place January 9-15. The weeklong festival offers culinary events for “everyone under the sun,” curated by coordinators Kate Reed and Philip Marro. Don’t miss out on a tantalizing schedule ranging from chef battles and culinary classes to master mixologist showdowns and an impressive lineup of talent at the Grand Tasting.

Grand Tasting Broward County’s signature food and wine event, the Grand Tasting will feature unlimited food and beverage tastings from area restaurants, cooking demonstrations, live music, art installations, and more on January 14.

Culinary Class: Cake Decorating Head over to New River Café and Bakery in Fort Lauderdale January 11 as chef Sabrina Courtemanche (winner of Sugar Rush Christmas on Netflix) helps guests create a fan-favorite character using cake, decadent frosting, and a little culinary magic.

Smithfield Poolside BBQ Battle Here’s your chance to meet with some nationally renowned and local pitmasters as they compete for the title of “BBQ Champion.” Enjoy bites from La Traila, Big Green Eggs and Ron, Fat Boyz Barbecue, and more, plus tasty sips and live music, all at the downtown Hyatt Centric’s pool deck on January 13.
