Casual fresh Mexican restaurant Zona Fresca shares its guacamole recipe.
Serves 4-6
You’ll need:
4 whole ripe Haas avocados
1/4 white onion (chopped)
1 generous sprig of fresh cilantro
1/4 lime (juiced)
1 ½ teaspoon of salt
1 clove garlic (chopped)
How to make it:
1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the avocado using a spoon. Place the avocado pulp into a bowl, molcajete (the traditional Mexican version of the mortar and pestle tool) or food processor.
2. Add the remaining ingredients. If using a bowl, mash avocados using a potato masher. If using a molcajete, mash using the pestle. If using the food processor pulse the machine for a chunkier guacamole, or puree for a creamy dip.
