Shop Warby Parker’s Trendiest Specs On Las Olas

If you frequent east Las Olas, chances are you’ve noticed a new pop of color crop up among the endless line of restaurants and storefronts. It’s most noticeable when sipping a thirst-quenching cocktail on Louie Bossi’s front patio. The Warby- blue stucco façade accented with an illustration of spectacles above the main doorframe hints at what’s inside: trendy eyewear brand Warby Parker.

It was founded by a group of then-rebellious grad students who fought to change the norm in the eyewear industry, delivering chic, designer looks at a revolutionary price. The Las Olas Boulevard storefront marks the brand’s fifth location in South Florida with countless stores additionally dotting the country.

Sophisticated Approach

A look inside the shop leads the eyes to a bustling beachscape by Barcelona-based illustrator Sandra Navarro, also known as “Lalalimola.” Her work features palm trees and beachgoers mixed in with bright pops of orange, yellow and blue.

The mural sits behind the marble “Reference Desk” where customers can go to pick up orders, get frame adjustments and consult with opticians.

The remainder of the store mimics the look of a library with colorful displays of books, brass accents, neatly arranged glasses on oak shelving surrounded by globe lighting tables, and, of course, ample full-length mirrors.

Pick Your Pair

If the thought of trying on a new pair of frames seems a little overwhelming, let the Warby Parker advisors dressed in “bleu de travail,” French for worker jackets, offer style advice. They’ll walk you through each selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses. You can even get lenses that help prevent strain from blue light. Las Olas’ location also offers eye exams and contact fittings.

Warby Parker’s ever-changing collections feature frames designed in-house with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings, plus impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses that block UVA and UVB rays. In late August, the team launched its latest Italian-made collection, Sesia, mixing two layers of contrasting acetate “for a Riviera-ready finish.”

As an effort to give back, the brand donates one pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair purchased. To date, Warby Parker has distributed more than five million pairs across the world.
