Get Your Caffeine, Juice Fix At The Seed Boca

If you are looking for a coffeehouse where the baristas know your name and there’s always a comfy spot for a good read, The Seed on West Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton is your answer.

The Squeeze

The year-old company defines itself as a “squeeze & drip,” meaning it offers coffees, as well as juices and smoothies. It uses the cold-press juicing method to set all the nutrients the fruits and vegetables have to offer. The Seed uses exclusively organic fruits and vegetables, and sources local produce as they’re available. Founder Carly Altier who is also a registered nurse, created all of the juice recipes. The juices are tailored to give the consumer specific benefits; and what’s best—they all have cheeky names like, “It Was All Yellow,” “Orange Drank” and “What’s Up Beaches.”

The Drip

If you’re looking for a caffeine boost, The Seed’s coffee is roasted in-house by Wells Coffee Co. five to six days a week. But what’s especially appealing about The Seed is that you can pick the origin of your coffee beans and have your individual cup brewed. This makes each visit a different and customizable experience, which keeps customers coming back for more. “You walk in and you feel like you’re in your living room,” Altier says. “There are two communal tables, it’s nice that people sit next to each other and start a conversation. … It’s a nice community vibe.”

The Crunch

There’s nothing more perfect to pair your juice or coffee with than a fresh pastry. Every other day danishes are brought in fresh from local bakeries. Try the signature s’mores bar or coffee cake. Or, skip the sweets, and take a bite out of a savory empanada like the smoked pork and pineapple, or the roasted vegetable that even meat-eaters will love.

If you can’t make it to The Seed’s storefront location, you can still experience the brand. The Seed is out and about with its pop-up coffee bar. In addition, Altier says the company has partnered with real estate agent Ronda Gensheimer and her husband to open The Seed 2 this spring.
