You’ve watched all 26 seasons. You’ve oohed and aahed over the dazzling costumes. Now, you can finally dance like the stars at Dance With Me at Town Center at Boca Raton.
The internationally recognized dance company is run by three “Dancing with the Stars” alums Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani and Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as Aleksandr “Sasha” Chmerkovskiy, Jhanna Volynets and Eugene Livshits. With several studios throughout the country, Dance With Me Boca Raton marks the first location to open in Florida.
What to Expect
I walked into Dance With Me not knowing what to expect for my first lesson. I rounded up a group of friends to join me for the private class to learn how to salsa—the perfect style to whip out on the dance floor during future South Florida outings.
Shiny hardwood floors and magnificent crystal chandeliers welcomed us, along with friendly instructors who have been individually picked by the owners. The beauty of Dance With Me is that it’s essentially for all—novices to even more advanced dancers can learn a thing or two in the classes.
We were led by a trained teacher who broke down each step of our salsa routine, easing anyone’s worries about not being able to pick up on the moves. The environment was fun and stress-free, allowing us all to get our dancing skills on. The best part? We were all laughing and letting loose by the end of class when our instructor decided we also needed to learn a few key bachata moves.
“This isn’t just about learning to dance,” says Maksim Chmerkovskiy, “it’s about stepping out of your comfort zone and becoming a healthier and happier version of yourself. Also, you’ll end up looking better and feeling more confident as a byproduct of all the fun you’re having and movement you’re doing.”
