8 Coffee Shop Alternatives to Starbucks in Fort Lauderdale

Local coffee shops, bakeries and cafes are taking the grab-and-go concept Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts have established and throwing it out the window. Ambience, culture and quality coffee define these stores, making customers more likely to bring their work with them and take a seat for a few hours.

Here are eight of the best places we’ve found to enjoy a cup of Joe in Broward County.

This Italian bakery serves what some locals consider the best cappuccino in Fort Lauderdale. It also sells Italian pastries like Nutella custard cake, a variety of gourmet gelato, as well as cured meats, olives and cheeses.

8. BREW Urban Cafe

No list of Fort Lauderdale’s best coffee shops would be complete without BREW, which some might say is the ultimate spot for freelancers and entrepreneurs to get work done. We were sad to see BREW close its downtown Fort Lauderdale location, but the new location that opened in FATVillage at Next Door at C&I Studios – complete with a vintage library – more than made up for it. Enjoy a specialty espresso drink paired with a pastry.
