23 Things To Know About Fashionista Arianne Brown

“I  always think of a love story behind what I do,” says Arianne Brown, a local fashion designer, painter and model whose statement-making pieces, like her Tara tops and Mandy pants, are wildly popular with South Florida’s sartorial crowd. In 2009, she launched Ramona LaRue, a collection of silken essentials she named in memory of her late mother, a talented dressmaker lauded for her hand-painted frocks. Four years later, she opened her first brick-and-mortar boutique in Miami, followed by four more addresses in Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton. A relaxed, bohemian spirit pervades each store—from vintage furnishings to the musical melodies of the 1970s—and feelings and memories are threaded through her sensual designs. For her fall collection, she revived the 14 years she lived on a ranch in the south of Spain with bold, vibrant prints of bulls and wild horses painted in her Miami Beach studio. She also unveiled a new line targeted to plus-size silhouettes. When she’s not designing, Brown, a Palm Island resident, enjoys spending time with her dog and eight cats, reef diving and vacationing at The Breakers, where she hunts for new print ideas.
