Gennaro & Michele DiMeo, Tuscan Prime Italian Chophouse

Born in Naples, Italy, Gennaro DiMeo came to the U.S. at age 15. Armed with a cache of authentic recipes from his hometown, DiMeo opened his first restaurant at age 18. Since then, he and his partner in business and life, Michele, have established four restaurant concepts. With 14 locations in three states, they cover the gamut, including counter order, table service, casual dining and full service fine dining. As luck would have it, their second fine-dining establishment is about to open in our backyard.

Opening in Spring 2019 at 401 East Las Olas, Tuscan Prime Italian Chophouse is bringing the “WOW” to Fort Lauderdale. A complete gutting and remodeling have transformed the tired location into a mind-blowing visual experience. An indoor/outdoor bar makes way to a sprawling, open floorplan with authentic Italian tile and furnishings, anchored by an authentic dried olive tree as the centerpiece of the dining room. And the food…oh, the food.

Combining their passion for food-service and their commitment to community, the DiMeo’s business model always includes philanthropic involvement. Steering clear of national marketing machines, they choose to work with charities embedded locally in a continuing commitment to their neighbors.

With a much-needed Sunday Jazz Brunch, a mind-blowing Ladies Night concept and incomparable menu, Tuscan Prime Italian Chophouse is definitely primed to be the next hot-spot.
